Ireland is beautiful in general …. and you will be impressed by the scenery on any of your tours of Ireland.
However County Wicklow is commonly known as the ” garden of Ireland “. It lies inland and south from Dublin. So…if you are in Dublin it is very accessible. I would call it a must see attraction …… at least make sure you travel through it.
Its countryside is , at the right times of year , full of multi – hued blooms , and once a year it hosts a a festival in which many gardens , both public and private , are open to view.
One of the most stunning is at Powerscourt. This is a formal garden laid out in the finest stately home style. It has its own ” Sugar Loaf Mountain ” in the distance.
The grounds are widely acknowledeged as some of the finest in Europe. A reall hidden gem in Ireland.
So if you are on any Ireland tours try and visit Wicklow in general and maybe take a stroll around the gardens at Powerscourt.
