While on a tour last week I had the pleasure of visiting some great areas of this beautiful island.
We had local food in little pubs and enjoyed the traditional music.
In fact on Sunday night in the Harbour Bar , Newcastle , County Down a lot of musicians just turned up with their instruments and began “jamming”. The music and singing was incredible and all spontaneous.
There are over 340 castles in Ireland and often the less well known ones are the best to see on any Ireland tours. They are in beautiful settings and very authentic. Try and stop at some.
The hotels we use are mostly family owned and a great standard and again the location and setting are all important.
The coast is also spectacular and the North , West , and South West are stunning.
But one word of caution if you intend to visit Ireland in 2013……book early !!
The first choice hotels are in demand and if you are on tours of Ireland you will want to stay in these special places.
