Lough Neagh

Lough Neagh

Lough Neagh is in Northern Ireland , and it is the largest lake in the British Isles. It is 20 miles long and 9 miles wide.

It is pronounced “Loch Nay”

Legend has it that the legendary Finn Mc Cool (of Giants Causeway fame) was so unimpressed with the low flat terrain of Tyrone that he took a massive lump of land and hurled it into the Irish sea ! It is said that that lump of land is now known as the Isle of Man ! Dont you just love Irish legends.

It is certainly worth a visit on any Ireland tours and easilly accessible on our extended Belfast tours.

There is excellent fishing , plentiful wildlife , and water sports on the Lough.

There is also a large Eel fishery at Toome.

A real hidden gem that offers a lot on any tours of Ireland.
