This is a village in Perthshire, and counts as a hidden gem on any tours of Scotland.
I found the 18th century houses fascinating as they are built of local stone with walls over two feet thick.
The old church of Muthill is worth a look.
Parts of the nave and choir still exist.
The 70 foot tall tower is complete with bell and capped by crow-stepped gables.
The foundations of this tower date back to the 9th century.
Check out Drummond Castle.
It consists of an old keep which is now used as a museum.
That dates from 1491 and has a history involving an attack by Oliver Cromwell.
There is also a more modern wing.
The fine gardens at Drummond Castle were laid out in the 17th century.
In 1840 a more elaborate plan was completed.
