Adare, County Limerick

This is a great stop on any tours of Ireland.

It is a quaint little village with Thatched roof cottages (and some excellent coffee shops with great pastries).

Adare village is laid out in the English style, resembling many country hamlets in England.

The houses and gardens are very well kept.

Some say the highlight of the town is the park of the Earl of Dunraven.

The River Maigue runs through the park.

There is an old castle with semi-circular fortified towers.

Adare Manor was built in the neo-Gothic style and has nicely preserved interiors.

Also check out the ruins of the Franciscan Order.

This was originally presented to the friars by an Earl of Kildare in 1464.
