Ballybunion is worth a look on any tours of Ireland. Another little hidden gem.
It is a family resort and has one of the worlds best golf courses. There are a rows of glass-porched houses facing the sea.
At the North end of the flat sandy beach the cliffs start. They stretch along the coast to the Shannon and have many caves to explore.
Nearby Leck Castle is worth a look as is Ballybunion Castle.
Knockanore Hill offers splendid views to Galway Bay and the mountains of Tralee and Killarney.
