An extensive megalithic cemetery.
Possibly started in the fifth millennium B.C.
Sadly it has been much depleted by stone-quarrying. Though it was formerly the largest known collection of megalithic tombs in Ireland or Britain.
Two miles west of Sligo town, the tombs include passage graves and dolmens with stone circles, some excavated by a Swedish multidisciplinary team.
