22 Mar Day eight of our Ireland tour
We have decided to do a live blog on one of our Ireland tours as it happens….it might be an interesting exercise !!!
Today our clients woke up in the middle of Connemara National Park at the wonderful Ballynahinch Castle hotel.
The breakfast is great and they had theirs overlooking the stunning river that runs through the grounds. Great for fishing.
Our day will involve a drive through the Park and a visit to Kylemore Abbey. This property is linked to a brilliant love story and is a must see attraction on any Ireland tours.
After lunch we took a trip to Aughnanure Castle http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/west/aughnanurecastle/
This is one of the best castles in Ireland with a colorful history. It is not well known and well off the beaten track. A real hidden gem !!
After our visit to the castle we took a leisurely drive back to Ballynahinch Castle wher the clients enjoyed a hot Irish whiskey in front of a roaring fire in the library.
They had a dinner reservation in the restaurant for this evening and are looking forward to a great meal.
