It has 18th century origins with major work in 1869.

 

The grounds are magnificent with a great beech tree hedge stretching for 580 yards.

That was planted in 1746 and is now 90 feet high.

 

The village has its original cross dating from 1698.

 

Nearby, the Cleaven Dyke, dates from Roman times.

It is thought to relate to the great legionary fortress of Inchtuthil.

 

Stobhall House is also close and dates from 1578.

There was an earlier structure dating from 1360.
