27 Jul Mull, Argyll and Bute
This is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides.
Worth a visit on any tours of Scotland.
It is an island with a great variety of landscapes.
It has rough moorlands to the North, and a hilly centre.
Ben More is 3169 feet tall.
There are also some beautiful lochs to see.
Loch Don, Loch Spelve, and Loch Bluff are all spectacular.
The castles on the island were strongholds in their day.
Sadly, Castle Aros, and Duart Castle are now ruins.
But they are still worth seeing as you can feel the history within the ruins.
Mull supplied a great number of soldiers and officers to the British army during the Napoleonic Wars.
The chief town on the island is Tobermory, which is very picturesque.
