Rathcroghan , County Roscommon

This grossly undeveloped area , which was a burial place for the Kings of Ireland and Connacht , covers 518 hectares. Over 20 ring forts , burial mounds and megalithic tombs can be found here , and a 6ft high standing stone is said to mark the grave of King Daithi , Ireland’s last pagan King.
