Rosslare, County Wexford
This town is a popular seaside resort.
It has a great six-mile beach which is really nice to walk along.
Add to that some fantastic golf courses and fine angling opportunities.
So, a number of reasons to visit Rosslare on any tours of Ireland.
There is an interesting causeway that links the town with Lady’s Island.
On the island is an interesting Norman Castle worth seeing.
It was built on the site of a stronghold owned by Rudolphe de Lambert who died on the third Crusade.
The castle has a leaning limestone tower.
Next to the castle is the site of an Augustinian priory dedicated to St Mary.
This is still a place of pilgrimage.
