The highest mountain range in Ireland is known as MacGillycuddy’s Reeks. What a great name !!!!
They are to be found in County Kerry in the south west of Ireland. A real hidden gem on Ireland tours.
The tallest amongst this range is Carrantuohill , which rises to over 3,400 feet. Though it seems even higher as it starts from comparitively low surrounding land.
” The Reeks ” form the backbone of the Iveagh Peninsula , which is one of the most scenically famous parts of Ireland. A must see attraction on tours of Ireland.
It is the setting for the famous ” Ring of Kerry ” , a long-established tour route offering spectacular coastline scenery and much more of general interest. Though it is heavily travelled with coaches etc and a one way system operates on much of the route. There are a lot of tourists.
