26 Oct Clifden , Connemara
Clifden is a beautiful little town on the Connemara coast. Its REAL IRELAND.
It has restaurants and pubs that are amongst the best in Ireland. Local music and singing every night.
The seafood is superb in Mitchells as it is in the Derryclare. However my favourite dish is the Sea Bass in the Marconi restaurant.
The Marconi is the restaurant of Foyles Hotel. This hotel is a typical family run hotel in Ireland. It is in a great location and the staff are fantastic. When you arrive “Jack” the familys Golden Labrador waits in reception. Though he is so used to attention he takes it all in his stride !
If you want a typical Irish castle to stay in then the Ballynahinch Castle is not far away.
From Clifden you can drive the spectacular Sky Road with panoramic views of the coastline. Or you could explore the little coastal villages like Roundstone. This is a real hidden gem.
Connemara National Park is close with the mountains and valleys that typify Connemara.
Kylemore Abbey is also within striking distance and that is a real treat. A must see attraction.
And at Letterfrack you can take a glass bottom boat trip and see the local sea life.
Clifden is well worth a viait on any Ireland tours. Check our options at Ireland Luxury Tours.
