09 Apr Day eighteen of our Ireland tour
We have decided to do a live blog on one of our Ireland tours as it happens….it might be an interesting exercise !!!
Today our clients woke up on the shore of Belfast Lough at the superb Culloden Hotel.
That was rather apt as our plans for today include the history of the Titanic which sailed out of that very lough !!
We visited the Titanic Experience , a superb building on the site of the shipyard where the Titanic was built. Then we took a look at the drawing office and the dry dock. A wonderful morning of Titanic history. This is a must see attraction on any tours of Ireland.
After lunch in the Cathedral quarter we visited Saint Annes Cathedral.
Then it was on to Belfast City Hall.
We also took an hour for some shopping at the more local stores.
Finally we drove to Belfast Castle and took in the stunning views of Belfast.
On the way back to the hotel we stopped in Holywood , the home of Rory McIlroy , and had a pint at the Maypole !!!! This pub is a true hidden gem and pours the best pint of Guinness in Ireland.
Dinner that evening was booked at the Cultra Inn.
