14 Jan Day Tours of the North Coast….out of Belfast
If you want to see the North coast out of a base , like Belfast for example , our tours are very different.
Ireland Luxury Tours like to drive the coast road through Carrickfergus to Larne.
Then on to Carnlough and a coffee stop at the Londonderry Arms Hotel , once owned by Winston Churchill.
Then onwards up the magnificent coast road through the Glens of Antrim , where you will think you are in the highlands of Scotland.
Dropping into Ballycastle before moving on to Ballintoy Harbour for some home made lunch in the little family run cafe.My personal favourite is the home made wheaten bread and fresh mackerel. Though the irish stew and champ is beautiful. As are the huge variety of home made desserts ranging from Irish lumpy bumpy cake to apple tart….dont look if you are on a diet !!!!
Afterwards visit the Giants Causeway and on to Dunluce castle before returning home by the main road.
If you are in Belfast on a cruise ship , with limited time , this trip is still possible in a slightly different format. It can begin at Dunluce Castle and take in the Giants Causeway , lunch at Ballintoy , through Ballycastle and the Glens of Antrim , and back to Belfast. We may even have time for an overview of Belfast taking in the City Hall , Grand Opera House , Queens University , and the Titanic Dry Dock. Maybe even a few of the famous Belfast murals.
