18 Jul Invertote, Skye, Highland
In all Scottish place names, the prefix ‘inver’ signifies the mouth of a river; near here the River Tote opens out into the Sound of Raasay. You won’t see it from the road, but all up and down the East Trotternish coast sills of basalt such as this can be found, culminating some miles to the north in the spectacular – and often grotesque – manifestations of Quiraing rock formations.
Invertote is a hidden gem that is full of natural beauty spots, contact us now to organise your visit on your tours of Scotland.
