Cushendun

This is a quaint village in the North of Ireland.

It’s worth looking at on any tours of Ireland that take you around the North coast.

The village lies at the entrance to Glendun, which is one of the famous Nine Glens of Antrim.

The coastal road which climbs up from the bay and the village leads to one of the most surprising landscapes in Ireland.

You literally come upon the lovely Murlough Bay and are able to look up at the great basalt pillars of Fairhead.

These are 636 feet tall and one of the best colonnades ever erected by nature.

The Glendun river has a good run of sea-trout and salmon in August.

It’s a great fishing spot.
