Hidden Gems on the North Coast of Ireland

Hidden Gems on the North Coast of Ireland

When you are on Ireland tours the Giants Causeway will be a must see attraction.

But along the North Coast there are a few hidden gems which you may not know about…..

The first is Ballintoy Harbour which is not close to the little village but down a winding road with spectacular views. Keep an eye out for the little white church. There is a little restaurant in the harbour which is brilliant for home cooked traditional Irish food….and desserts that you will not believe !!! Check out Rourkes Kitchen.

The second is Sheep Island , which is a bizarre rocky column that is home to a colony of cormorants.

The third is Portbradden , which is a very small hamlet at the base of some cliffs. It has the smallest church in Ireland … St Gobbans. It is 12 feet by 6 feet ! The ruins of an even smaller church…St Lasseraghs , stand on the cliff above. When you stop at the viewpoint above Whitepark Bay the view of Portbradden is fantastic.

So , when you travel the North Coast on your tours of Ireland remember , there is a lot to take in !!
