Monaghan , County Monaghan

The county town has some remains of a 15th century friary near The Diamond. The nearby ornate Victorian drinking fountain is a memorial to a Baron Rossmore. A museum tracing the history of the St. Louis order and the county is housed in the St. Louis Convent.

Monaghan is a real hidden gem and is worth a visit on your tours of Ireland.
